Brian Perry Civil is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support our upcoming project to construct the Second Ashburton Bridge (2AB) on behalf of NZTA. The 2AB project will deliver a new bridge across the Hakatere/Ashburton River and a 2.9 km link road connecting Ashburton to Tinwald via rural farmland, aimed at improving transport connectivity and resilience. It includes two bridge structures (m and 60 m), road upgrades, greenfield construction, stormwater infrastructure, a box culvert over Carters Creek, and realignment of local drains and trails. Located m downstream of the existing SH1 bridge, the project spans residential, rural, and conservation zones, with construction involving earthworks, vegetation clearance, and water management.
This is a fixed term role through to end of August.
- Prepare and update short‑term plans, work packs and site documentation
- Coordinate activities with supervisors, subcontractors and delivery teams
- Keep daily records up to date, including quality checks, reporting and progress tracking
- Support safe work practices and ensure controls are in place before tasks begin
- Monitor resources, materials and plant to keep work efficient and organised
- Contribute to risk reviews, environmental requirements and consent compliance
