About The Role

This role supports the commercial performance of our projects by keeping cost, contract, and reporting activities clear, accurate, and grounded in good commercial practice. You’ll work closely with delivery teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure our commercial systems are consistent and well‑managed. The role includes regular travel to Ashburton, two days per week for the duration of the Ashburton 2AB project.

  • Maintain accurate cost control, forecasting, and project financial reporting
  • Prepare and administer subcontract agreements, notices, and compliant payment claims
  • Support procurement activity, including package preparation and value‑for‑money assessments
  • Track variations, manage change processes, and maintain clear commercial records
  • Apply contract terms correctly and support the project’s commercial position
  • Work with the Commercial Manager to monitor commercial risk and provide reliable inputs into decision‑making

What You’ll Bring

  • A tertiary qualification in quantity surveying or a related field
  • At least three years’ experience in a QS role within civil construction or major project environments
  • Strong capability in cost control, measurement, contract administration, and financial reporting
  • Confidence preparing claims, managing variations, and navigating contract requirements
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work constructively with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams
  • A practical, analytical approach with strong attention to detail
  • A collaborative working style that supports good decision‑making, learning, and safe, respectful team culture
  • Willingness to travel regularly to Ashburton
