Brian Perry Civil is in an exciting phase of growth across the Southern region. As we continue to strengthen our reputation in the market, we’re seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join our high‑performing New Business team. This senior role will lead the delivery of complex civil infrastructure tenders, developing strong value propositions across a range of procurement models and securing targeted revenue in a commercially responsible manner. Reporting to the Regional New Business Manager, the role can be based in Wellington or Christchurch.
- Lead and own end‑to‑end bid management for civil and infrastructure projects valued between $10–300 million
- Develop winning bid strategies, methodologies, programmes and commercial inputs across multiple procurement models
- Provide strong commercial leadership, ensuring risks are identified, managed and governed appropriately
- Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing bid team, with 2–3 direct reports
- Collaborate closely with construction, engineering, commercial and executive stakeholders
- Deliver multiple bids in a deadline‑driven, high‑pressure environment, ensuring quality, compliance and on‑time submission
What You’ll Bring:
- A solid background in the management of Civil, Water and Infrastructure projects, along with a Civil, Mechanical or similar construction related qualification
- Involvement at a senior level within bid teams and have significant customer facing experience in strategic bids
- Commercial risk – a sound understanding of the risk profiles with various procurement models including LS, M&V, D&C, ECI and Alliances and the treatment of risks to reduce commercial exposure to an acceptable level
- A sound understanding of the workings of NZ Standard Contacts (3910 and 3916), with NEC and FIDIC an advantage
- Ideally proficient in RIB Candy, Procore and Active Risk Management (ARM) or similar software
- You will be a leader of people who strives to grow the people around you, actively encourages your team to develop in their roles
