Brian McCance (Steel) Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated, reliable and experienced Warehouse Operative to assist in warehouse operations. Working alongside the Warehouse Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products within the facility, as well as the dispatch of various steel products for delivery to customers throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles and orders being processed for delivery.
- Assist with the movement of stock either by hand, using lifting equipment or a forklift truck.
- Build and strap steel onto safe bales for delivery.
- Maintain the warehouse and yard, ensuring a clean and safe working environment, including the storage of stock.
- Work within the health and safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse and yard.
- Carry out general warehouse duties and any other duties required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Forklift Truck Licence desirable.
- Good team player.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Willingness to undergo any internal or external training that may be required.
Experience
- Experience of manual handling desirable.
- Good timekeeping and attendance record.
Contracted Hours
Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm. The successful applicant must be willing to work overtime to assist with the business needs.
