Brian McCance (Steel) Ltd is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our team as a Trainee Band Saw Operative to assist in our processing operations. Working alongside the Warehouse Manager and Saw Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for processing various steel products, ensuring their safe storage within our facility, and distributing saw-cut products to customers throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Wages: £12.85 per hour (reviewed annually). Overtime paid at 1.5 (time and a half).
Responsibilities:- Process various saw-cut materials to customer requirements.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles and saw-cut orders being processed for delivery.
- Assist with the movement of stock either by hand, using lifting equipment, or a forklift truck.
- Build and strap steel onto safe bales for delivery.
- Maintain the warehouse and saw area, ensuring a clean and safe working environment, including the storage of stock.
- Work within the health and safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse and yard.
- Carry out general warehouse duties and any other duties as required.
- Good team player.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Willingness to undergo any internal or external training that may be required.
- Experience of manual handling is desirable.
- Good timekeeping and attendance record.
