Bri-Stor Systems manufacture a comprehensive range of products, including modular and bespoke van conversions, interior racking and van roof equipment. Occupying a 35-acre site, employing over 200 people, and the capacity to work with over 2,500 vehicles at a time, our facilities incorporate assembly, fitting workshops and vehicle commissioning centres. Bri-Stor Systems is part of the Hex Group, a family-owned manufacturing and engineering business based in Hixon, Staffordshire. For almost 40 years, our strategy has been about consistent, organic growth by continually advancing our engineering and manufacturing capability and supporting customers who share our commitment to excellence. In 2022, we became The HEX Group, a reflection of our group presence as six divisions. Operating in new and diversified markets, and with a strong balance sheet, our aim is to continuously invest in our people and processes. We are also committed to becoming a carbon-neutral business by 2037.
Excellent prospects for progression within The Hex Group. Progression from Level 3 to Level 4 is a realistic ambition. Many of our apprentices go on to further their careers in one of our businesses, and those with exceptionally high levels of drive and determination achieve a Level 4 qualification. We will even sponsor some of our graduate apprentices to complete a full degree.
The engineering technician apprenticeship covers a range of topics, including:
- Engineering principles
- Technical mathematics
- Computer-aided design (CAD)
- Mechanical and electrical engineering
Apprentices will also learn about manufacturing processes, quality control, and maintenance, as well as health and safety regulations.
Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:
- Level 3 Diploma in engineering technician (skills)
- Level 3 Certificate or Diploma in engineering technician (knowledge)
- Functional Skills in maths and English as required
- Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
Training and training location to be confirmed to gain a general understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles through a combination of on-the-job training and classroom/workshop-based training in conjunction with The JCB Academy. Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30.
