An elite international law firm is seeking a US Funds Tax Specialist to join its market-leading tax capability in London. This is a non-lawyer role, ideally suited to an experienced US tax manager from a leading accountancy firm who is looking to move into the legal environment and work closely with top-tier funds clients.
The Role
- You will support the firm’s US tax and investment funds practices, advising on US tax compliance and reporting matters for private equity, hedge funds, real estate and other alternative investment structures.
- Working alongside partners and associates, you will provide technically strong, commercially focused input across a broad range of US funds matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and review of US partnership tax returns for complex fund structures.
- Delivery of US tax compliance services for investment funds and their investors.
- Advising on US tax reporting requirements, including K-1s and investor disclosures.
- Supporting fund structuring, launches and ongoing operational tax matters.
- Acting as a technical point of contact for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Identifying and managing US tax risks and compliance obligations.
- Contributing to process improvement and best practice within the function.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced US tax manager from a reputable accountancy firm or specialist US tax practice.
- Strong background in US funds taxation, particularly private equity and partnerships.
- Hands-on experience with US partnership returns in the funds space.
- Solid understanding of US tax compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Technically confident, detail-driven and comfortable working with sophisticated clients.
