We are partnering with a leading FTSE 250 organisation to appoint a Director of Financial Reporting into their high-performing Group Finance team. This is a senior leadership role with global exposure, offering direct interaction with executive leadership and responsibility for delivering best-in-class financial reporting.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will lead the Group’s financial reporting function, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of both internal and external reporting. You will play a critical role in shaping reporting processes, strengthening controls, and supporting key strategic initiatives across the business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the preparation of Group consolidated financial statements, including annual and interim reporting
  • Oversee external disclosures and regulatory reporting in line with UK and US requirements
  • Manage the monthly close and management reporting process, partnering closely with FP&A
  • Ensure robust internal controls and SOX compliance across the reporting cycle
  • Act as a key contact for external auditors, managing interim and year-end audits
  • Provide reporting and insights to senior stakeholders, including the Audit Committee and CFO
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial reporting processes, systems, and governance
  • Support the accounting treatment of complex transactions, including M&A and restructurings
  • Lead, develop and mentor a high calibre reporting team

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA or equivalent) with a Big 4 background strongly preferred
  • Proven experience in a large listed or multinational environment
  • Deep technical expertise in IFRS and group consolidation; exposure to US reporting frameworks highly advantageous
  • Strong understanding of SOX and financial controls frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively at CFO and Board/Audit Committee level
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting issues into clear business insights
  • A proactive, high-integrity leader who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment
