Pricing Manager (12-month FTC)

Full-Time On-site

We are partnering with a leading international law firm to recruit an experienced Pricing Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a broad pricing and commercial role requiring a combination of strong financial modelling capability and senior stakeholder influence. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable getting into the detail of pricing analysis and building sophisticated commercial models as they are presenting their conclusions, challenging assumptions and influencing Partners.

Working across key client relationships, panel arrangements and commercial opportunities, you will help shape pricing strategy and provide Partners with the analysis, insight and commercial guidance required to make informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed pricing and financial models to evaluate fee structures, profitability, commercial scenarios and alternative pricing approaches.
  • Analyse complex pricing proposals and translate the outputs into clear, commercially focused recommendations for Partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of pricing activity across strategically important client relationships, understanding both the financial detail and wider commercial considerations.
  • Support major panel processes and client negotiations, including evaluating different commercial positions and modelling the financial impact of proposed terms.
  • Work closely with Partners ahead of negotiations, helping them understand the commercial implications of different scenarios and preparing them for discussions with client procurement teams.
  • Participate in client and procurement negotiations where required, using financial insight to support the firm's commercial position.
  • Partner with business development, finance and other teams on RFPs, pitches and complex commercial submissions.
  • Provide constructive commercial challenge to senior stakeholders, using robust analysis to support recommendations and influence decision‑making.
  • Deliver pricing and commercial guidance to Partners and fee earners, helping develop greater understanding of the financial impact of pricing decisions.
  • Contribute to broader pricing and commercial projects, identifying opportunities to strengthen pricing approaches and commercial performance.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Significant experience in pricing, commercial finance or a closely related discipline, with a legal sector background strongly preferred.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with experience assessing complex pricing structures, commercial scenarios and profitability.
  • The commercial judgement to move beyond the model, interpret the output and provide a clear recommendation on the appropriate course of action.
  • Experience working on client panels, strategic pricing arrangements, RFPs, tenders or significant commercial proposals.
  • Exposure to commercial negotiations and the confidence to support senior stakeholders through challenging client or procurement discussions.
  • Proven ability to build credibility with Partners and other senior stakeholders and influence decisions using a combination of data, commercial insight and judgement.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions and presenting alternative commercial approaches where appropriate.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Able to operate independently and take ownership quickly within an established pricing and commercial function.
  • Candidates from other sophisticated professional services environments may be considered, although previous law firm pricing experience would be highly advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pricing Manager to take on an all‑encompassing role combining hands‑on analytical work with genuine commercial influence. It would suit someone who enjoys building the analysis themselves but also wants to be in the room using that work to shape decisions with senior stakeholders.
