The Company

Join a growing, London-based accountancy firm that combines the quality and complexity of a top-tier client base with the culture, agility and personal touch of a mid-sized practice. With over 40 years of expertise and strong year-on-year growth, the firm has built a reputation for delivering high-touch, bespoke advice to clients who might typically sit with larger organisations, but value a more relationship-led approach. As part of a leading international network, you’ll benefit from global reach and technical depth while working in a collaborative, people-first environment that genuinely invests in development and progression. With a diverse client portfolio spanning high and ultra-high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs and international groups, this is an excellent opportunity for a Personal Tax Manager to step into a visible, career-enhancing role at a particularly exciting stage of the firm’s growth.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Personal Tax Manager to join a growing private client team. This role offers a mix of complex compliance and advisory work, making it ideal for a commercially focused tax professional looking to broaden their impact. You will manage a varied portfolio including ultra and high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, private equity professionals, families, trusts, and internationally mobile clients. The position also provides the chance to work closely with other tax teams on wider advisory projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex portfolio of personal tax clients, taking full ownership of assignments
  • Provide technical expertise across income tax, CGT, inheritance tax, and residence matters
  • Oversee compliance processes, including the preparation and review of complex personal tax returns
  • Contribute to advisory and consultancy projects, both independently and alongside other tax teams
  • Support on specialist areas such as EIS/SEIS, EMI, employment-related securities, and P11Ds
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and delivering a high standard of service
  • Liaise with HMRC and third parties on a range of tax matters
  • Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to their technical development
  • Conduct technical research and provide internal guidance across the wider firm

Candidate Profile

  • CTA qualified (or equivalent) with a strong academic background
  • Proven experience in personal tax within a professional services environment
  • Strong technical knowledge across personal and business tax matters
  • Track record of managing complex compliance and involvement in advisory work
  • Commercially aware with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships internally and externally
  • A collaborative team player with experience supporting and developing junior staff
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and communication skills

Why Apply?

You will get the chance to work with a high-quality and varied client base, including HNW/UHNW individuals and entrepreneurial businesses, while developing a strong mix of compliance and advisory experience to enhance your technical skillset. You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team that genuinely prioritises internal progression, backed by the scale and expertise of an international network without losing the culture of a mid-tier firm. With ongoing investment in professional development, mentoring and training, alongside a competitive benefits package including hybrid working, bonus potential and private healthcare, this role offers a clear and compelling opportunity to progress your career within a growing and ambitious firm.
