This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with solid UK employment tax experience who is ready to step into a more client-facing, advisory-led role, working as part of a high-performing regional and national team. You will play a key role in delivering a broad range of employment tax advisory and compliance projects, gaining exposure to complex technical areas while developing your leadership and client management skills. This position offers a clear pathway for progression, hands-on experience with senior stakeholders, and the chance to build specialist expertise across areas such as IR35, benefits and expenses, PAYE/NIC governance, reward strategy, CIS, NMW, and HMRC enquiries.
Responsibilities
- Support and deliver advisory projects across:
- PAYE/NIC
- Benefits and expenses
- Termination payments
- Reward strategy and cost reduction
- Employment status (IR35, umbrella arrangements)
- CIS, NMW, and payroll governance
- Prepare and review technical reports, calculations and HMRC correspondence
- Assist with PSAs, P11Ds, employer compliance reviews, and year-end processes
- Attend and contribute to client meetings and calls
- Review work produced by junior team members, providing guidance and coaching
- Support business development activities, including proposals and research
- Contribute to internal technical training and knowledge sharing
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years’ UK employment tax experience (practice or in-house)
- Strong technical knowledge of PAYE/NIC, expenses and benefits, IR35/worker status, and HMRC processes
- ATT / CTA qualified (or equivalent experience)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Keen to develop technical expertise and take on client-facing responsibilities
- A collaborative team player who enjoys working across all levels
