The Role
As a Manager within the Alternative Investment Funds Tax team, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality advisory and compliance services to a sophisticated client base. The position offers a mix of technical tax work, client management, team leadership, and cross‑border collaboration. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business while developing deep expertise in the complex and fast‑moving AIF landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of UK and international alternative fund clients, ensuring exceptional delivery across both advisory and compliance work.
- Research, analyse, and summarise complex tax issues relating to fund managers, funds, investors, investments, and key executives.
- Collaborate closely with wider Financial Services and Deals Tax teams, as well as global offices, on cross‑border matters.
- Build and nurture strong client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact for day‑to‑day queries and technical matters.
- Oversee and review compliance work completed by specialist compliance centres, participating in client meetings and ensuring timely delivery.
- Coach, mentor, and support junior team members, contributing to a positive and inclusive team culture.
Candidate Profile
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in intellectually challenging environments and enjoys working on complex, international tax matters. You will bring:
- Strong UK income and corporate tax experience, with a blend of advisory and compliance exposure.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high‑quality work to tight deadlines.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach, with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience in alternative investment fund sectors (private equity, hedge funds, private credit) is highly desirable, though not essential.
- A recognised tax or accounting qualification (or international equivalent).
