Tax Advisory Manager / Assistant Manager
Location: London
Working pattern: Highly flexible hybrid working
I’m working with a well-established M&A tax team that is looking to hire at Tax Assistant Manager or Tax Manager level as it continues to grow.
This is a particularly strong opportunity for someone currently within a mid-tier or regional accountancy firm who has built a solid Corporate Tax grounding in compliance but is looking to move into a 100% advisory-focused role.
The team has an excellent track record of hiring people from non-M&A/ Advisory background and supporting them in making the transition into more complex advisory work. There is a genuine focus on training and development, with strong progression opportunities for people who want to continue building their technical and commercial skill set.
The role
The position is 100% advisory, with no compliance portfolio to manage. You’ll work closely with senior members of the team on a broad range of tax advisory projects, giving you the opportunity to develop considerably more advisory exposure, including but not limited to:
- Pre-sale support and tax restructuring;
- Buy side due diligence for acquisitions and lending reviews;
- Transaction tax support and structuring advice to vendors on sale mandates;
Why consider it?
- 100% tax advisory with no compliance portfolio
- Excellent opportunity to move from a compliance-heavy role into advisory
- Strong track record of developing people from non-M&A background
- Very supportive team with a strong training and progression culture
- Good exposure to senior members of the team
- Friendly, collaborative culture with a genuine focus on developing people
- Highly flexible working, potentially requiring just 1 day per week in London
- Open to strong candidates based outside London who can commute in approximately once a week
- Opportunity to build both technical and commercial advisory experience
Who they are looking for
- The team is open-minded on background and would particularly suit someone coming from a mid-tier, Top 20 or strong regional accountancy firm.
- You may already have some advisory experience, or you could currently be spending the majority of your time on compliance and looking for a role that gives you the opportunity to make the move into full-time advisory work.
The most important thing is having strong tax fundamentals, a willingness to learn and the ambition to develop within an advisory environment.
