We’re looking for a technically strong accountant who thrives on accuracy and compliance but is also curious about the bigger picture. This role combines technical accounting expertise with exposure to commercial finance, perfect for someone who wants to broaden their skill set while remaining the go-to technical expert. The successful candidate will take ownership of technical accounting areas, statutory reporting, and compliance, while supporting the UK division with audit and group reporting requirements. Alongside this, you’ll gain exposure to commercial elements such as performance analysis and partnering with operational teams - ideal for someone who wants to develop beyond pure technical work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare statutory accounts and ensure compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS
- Lead on technical accounting issues and provide guidance to the wider finance team
- Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
- Ensure accurate and timely group reporting submissions
- Maintain strong internal controls and balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitor and implement changes in accounting standards
- Partner with stakeholders across finance and operations to resolve complex accounting queries
- Contribute to P&L and balance sheet analysis to support commercial decision-making
Qualifications & Experience
- ACA or ACCA qualified with strong technical accounting experience
- Background in audit or technical finance roles
- Excellent knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills; SAP experience advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts clearly
