A global business tax advisory firm is expanding its Real Estate Indirect Tax Practice across Europe and is seeking commercially minded senior professionals to help lead, build, and grow its market presence. The firm delivers integrated solutions across corporate tax, indirect tax, property tax, and tax technology, and is investing heavily in its European platform.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced indirect tax specialists who want to shape a market offering, drive client relationships, and influence strategic growth within a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Real Estate VAT Advisory – Act as a trusted advisor to multinational real estate investors, developers, asset managers, and funds on complex VAT matters across the UK and EU.
  • Client Leadership – Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders including CFOs, Heads of Tax, and Investment Directors.
  • Engagement Delivery – Lead high-impact indirect tax engagements across the real estate lifecycle (acquisitions, disposals, developments, leasing, fund structuring).
  • Business Development – Originate new opportunities, develop go-to-market strategies, and contribute to the growth of the European real estate tax practice.
  • Cross-Border Coordination – Collaborate with colleagues across Europe and globally to deliver integrated tax solutions.
  • VAT Compliance Oversight – Oversee VAT registrations, returns, refund claims, and compliance processes for real estate structures and SPVs.
  • Process & Controls Review – Review AP/AR processes, business workflows, and tax controls for real estate portfolios.
  • Tax Technology Collaboration – Work with tax technology teams to enhance automation, reporting, and data quality.
  • Thought Leadership – Produce technical insights, articles, and market commentary for clients and industry channels.
  • Sales Enablement – Support proposal development and pitch activity to secure new engagements.
Candidate Profile
  • 5+ years of specialised VAT experience, with exposure to real estate, funds, or financial services.
  • Strong technical understanding of EU VAT rules, real estate transactions, and cross-border structuring.
  • Experience engaging with tax authorities and managing complex client portfolios.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build a market presence.
  • Experience in Customs, Transfer Pricing, or Withholding Tax is beneficial but not essential.
  • A collaborative team player with a desire to contribute to a growing European practice.
