We have partnered with a high-growth, early-stage business to appoint an Interim Finance Manager on an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential to convert to a permanent position. This is a pivotal, hands-on role within a lean finance team, working directly with the Finance Director. You will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function and will suit a technically strong finance professional who is equally comfortable operating at both a financial accounting and operational level, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the end-to-end finance function in a lean team environment
  • Lead the month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and management accounts, including analysis and commentary
  • Responsible for Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
  • Support budgeting and forecasting, aligned to business growth plans
  • Ensure robust financial controls and improve existing processes and procedures
  • Act as the key point of contact for day-to-day finance matters, supporting the wider business
  • Partner closely with the Finance Director, providing reliable financial insight to support decision-making
  • Contribute to building a scalable finance function to support upcoming growth and projects

Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong background in financial accounting and reporting
  • Proven experience producing management accounts in a hands-on role
  • Confident managing both transactional finance (AP/AR) and month-end processes
  • Experience working in lean, fast-paced or scaling environments
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver under tight deadlines
  • Proactive, self-starter mindset with the willingness to “roll up sleeves”
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with senior stakeholders
