Group Tax Manager – PE Backed (Healthcare) in London

A PE backed healthcare business are seeking a hands‐on Group Tax Manager to take full ownership of the organisation\’s tax obligations, primarily Corporate & Indirect Tax compliance.This is a standalone in‐house role, suited to an experienced tax professional who is comfortable operating independently, managing day‐to‐day tax matters while ensuring compliance, control, and tax risk management across the business.The role is predominantly compliance‐focused, with responsibility for accurate filings, tax accounting, and interaction with HMRC and external advisers. You will report into the Group Financial Controller, and responsibilities will include:Full ownership of UK corporation tax compliance, including in‐sourcing or preparation and review of tax computationPreparation of current and deferred tax calculations for consolidated IFRS accounts and statutory accounts under UK GAAPManagement of corporation tax payments, instalment payments and tax forecastsEnd‐to‐end responsibility for UK VAT compliance, including review of VAT return (prepared by finance team) and complying with Making Tax Digital requirementsReview and advise on VAT treatment of transactionsSupport the employment tax processes with an internal teamAct as the primary point of contact for HMRC on all tax matters, including audits and enquiriesManage relationships with external tax advisers, reviewing work and controlling costsEstablish, maintain and document robust tax processes and controlsIdentify and manage tax risks, escalating issues appropriatelyProvide practical tax guidance to finance and operational stakeholdersMonitor changes in UK tax legislation and assess business impactExperience required:Strong UK corporation tax compliance experience in an industry roleSolid practical knowledge of UK VATExperience preparing tax computations and returnsGood understanding of tax accountingStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsConfident communicator with non‐tax stakeholdersPlease note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide.
