We have partnered with a leading alternative investment manager to appoint a Private Credit Fund Controller on a fixed-term contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing finance team within a dynamic and growing private markets platform, supporting a sophisticated credit investment strategy. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing fund operations, financial reporting, and stakeholder management across a portfolio of private credit funds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial reporting for private credit funds, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
  • Support fund lifecycle activity including new launches, investor closings, and deal execution
  • Act as a primary finance contact for internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Manage the quarter-end and year-end close processes, including review of fund accounts
  • Liaise with third-party service providers such as administrators, auditors, and tax advisors
  • Maintain strong oversight of fund accounting outputs, including reconciliations and reporting packs
  • Support the preparation and review of regulatory and tax filings
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies
  • Partner with audit teams to deliver an efficient and well-managed audit process
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and enhancements to financial controls
  • Monitor and strengthen internal control frameworks across finance processes
  • Contribute to team development and support broader finance initiatives

Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience within private credit, private debt, or broader alternatives
  • Strong understanding of fund structures, fund accounting, and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience working with external service providers, particularly fund administrators
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and valuation principles in illiquid assets
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with fund accounting systems is advantageous
