A global professional services firm are looking for a commercially minded Finance Manager to join the team. Looking after a team of three, you'll drive financial performance, strengthen working capital outcomes whilst acting as a key commercial business partner to senior stakeholders. Based in the city of London on a hybrid basis, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a matrixed, fast–paced environment and enjoys taking ownership. You will work closely with Partners, Directors, and cross–functional global finance teams, helping shape business decisions through insightful analysis and robust financial control.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage and develop a team of three providing mentorship, leadership, and guidance across billing, reconciliations, and compliance activity.
- Lead all aspects of working capital management, including WIP oversight, billing cycles, and revenue recognition.
- Manage and develop a team of three Revenue Accountants, ensuring efficient processes and high–quality execution.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to support month–end, year–end, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Deliver accurate forecasting, budgeting, and commercial analysis to guide strategic decision making.
- Drive improvements in profitability through performance reporting, variance analysis, and identification of risks and opportunities.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies, frameworks, and regulatory obligations.
- Act as primary contact for global finance functions including billing & collections, shared services, FP&A, and regional finance.
- Support audits (internal and external) and contribute to ad–hoc projects at both local and regional level.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with PQE in a commercial finance role.
- Hands–on experience with WIP, billing, forecasting and revenue recognition in a complex, matrixed organisation.
- Previous stakeholders' management experience; able to partner with senior leaders and challenge constructively.
- Highly proactive, solutions–oriented, and comfortable working autonomously.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities.
