I am working with a top accountancy firm looking to strengthen their London-based Audit team. The firm is reputable for their client‑centric approach and experiencing impressive growth, especially across their financial services, technology and fintech clients. The firm are now looking to add to this expansion with a new Audit Manager. As an Audit Manager joining the team, you would bring with you sector‑relevant expertise and benefit from a diverse portfolio across clients of varying sizes in the financial services, technology and fintech space. You will also be involved in developing new and longstanding relationships with clients and be given the opportunity to progress within a progressive and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead audit engagements end‑to‑end, from planning through to final delivery, ensuring quality, efficiency and timeliness.
- Act as the trusted day‑to‑day contact for a portfolio of clients, primarily within financial services and technology.
- Review audit work on‑site where appropriate, providing oversight and pragmatic direction.
- Manage individual assignments and resources effectively, rather than large permanent teams.
- Line‑manage and develop 2‑3 direct reports, while contributing more broadly to the wider audit team.
- Plan and schedule work to balance client needs, deadlines and firm‑wide productivity.
- Play an active role in training and supporting trainees, as well as mentoring team members with clear and constructive feedback.
Requirements:
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
- Proven experience as an Audit Manager within a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong working knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
- Confident managing multiple clients, audits and competing deadlines.
- Commercially minded, with exposure to or interest in business development activity.
- High standards around audit quality and technical accuracy.
- Proven UK‑based experience with financial services, technology and/or fintech clients.
