Overview

Head of Indirect Tax

A senior leadership role overseeing global VAT, GST, DST, and indirect tax compliance. Reporting to the Global Head of Indirect Tax, you\’ll lead a high-performing team and ensure timely, accurate filings, robust accounting processes, and strategic advisory support. You will also lead on process improvements and transformation inititives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own global indirect tax compliance and reporting, including review and sign-off of returns.
  • Manage indirect tax accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and audit relationships.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting for irrecoverable VAT.
  • Supervise a team of four and collaborate with advisory and finance teams.
  • Monitor global regulatory changes and ensure full compliance.
  • Drive process and technology improvements to enhance data quality.
  • Support audits, restructurings, M&A, and expansion initiatives.

Experience & Skills

  • 8+ years in VAT, ideally in-house or senior advisory.
  • Strong international tax exposure; financial services experience preferred.
  • CTA, ACA, CA (or equivalent) qualified.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organised, and confident communicator.
  • Advanced Excel skills; Oracle and PXCube experience a plus.
