I am working with a brilliant independent Practice in the mid-tier space looking experiencing strong, organic growth in the Financial Services space. Their clients in this space are varied, from asset and fund managers, to fintech and private equity firms, giving you a broad overview of the sector. The firm is partner-led, proudly independent and free of private equity investment themselves with no immediate plans to change this, developing future equity partners from within. The firm strives for true specialisation within each of their focal sectors. This is achieved through the careful tailoring of the portfolio, selectively taking on the most relevant and rewarding of engagements, and of course at the root of it all is a genuine interest and enjoyment of the sector. Responsibilities
- Take ownership in the daily management of a diverse portfolio across financial services clients
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing strategic insight and sector-specific expertise
- Engage in the full audit cycle, ensuring high standards and efficient delivery, from planning through to reporting
- Stay up to date with sector developments, including emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and industry trends
- Support the day-to-day management of the audit function, mentoring junior staff and contributing as a subject matter expert in both audit and the financial services space
- Report directly to the Partner as well as being responsible for leading junior team members
- Ad-hoc corporate finance engagements
Requirements
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Proven experience managing a team and client portfolio in a UK-based Practice firm
- Demonstrable experience servicing multiple clients concurrently
- Excellent client-facing and relationship-building skills
- Adept with IFRS and UK GAAP, ideally having serviced listed, international clients as well as private, smaller-sized clients
- Genuine interest in the financial services sector, and a desire to work with innovative, fast-moving businesses
