Digital Assets Tax Associate Director

Full-Time On-site

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced corporate tax professional to join a growing team specialising in the rapidly developing digital assets and cryptocurrency market.

The team advises a broad range of businesses operating both within and outside the digital assets sector, providing corporate tax support across advisory, compliance, transactions and due diligence.

With ambitious plans for continued growth, this is an opportunity to join an expanding area of the business and play an important role in developing both client relationships and the wider digital assets tax offering.

The Role

You will take a leading role in delivering corporate tax advice to clients operating within, or interacting with, the digital assets sector.

The work is varied and will include complex tax advisory matters alongside compliance and transaction-related projects. You will also work closely with specialists across areas including VAT, employment taxes and transfer pricing to provide clients with commercially focused, joined-up advice.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a broad range of corporate tax assignments relating to digital assets and cryptocurrency.
  • Advising clients on complex and evolving corporate tax issues within the sector.
  • Managing corporate tax advisory, compliance and due diligence engagements.
  • Working closely with specialists across VAT, employment taxes, transfer pricing and other areas of tax.
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact throughout engagements.
  • Identifying emerging tax issues, risks and opportunities for clients.
  • Managing projects from initial engagement through to completion.
  • Overseeing and developing junior members of the team.
  • Supporting the continued growth and development of the digital assets tax offering.
  • Communicating complex technical tax matters clearly to both tax and non-tax stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be an experienced corporate tax professional with a strong interest in, and ideally experience of, digital assets and cryptocurrency.

You are likely to have:

  • Strong corporate tax experience with exposure to digital assets and/or cryptocurrency.
  • Experience working on complex corporate tax advisory assignments.
  • A strong technical understanding of UK corporate taxation and the ability to apply this to developing areas of tax.
  • Exposure to corporate tax compliance and/or transaction and due diligence work.
  • Strong project and client management skills.
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders and developing client relationships.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with specialists across different areas of tax.
  • Strong commercial judgement alongside technical expertise.
  • Experience managing or developing more junior colleagues.
  • CTA, ACA or an equivalent professional qualification, or relevant experience.

Level

The team is flexible on level and is particularly keen to hear from experienced Managers who are ready to take the next step in their career.

For the right individual, this represents a genuine opportunity to step up from Manager to Senior Manager, taking on greater responsibility for clients, projects and team development.

Applications are also welcomed from existing Senior Managers and Associate Directors, with the final level determined by experience.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to specialise further in one of the fastest-evolving areas of corporate tax while retaining exposure to a broad range of technically challenging work.

You will join a collaborative and growing team where you can take significant ownership of client relationships and assignments, work alongside specialists from across the tax practice and contribute directly to the continued development of the digital assets offering.

For someone joining at Manager or Senior Manager level, there is significant scope to develop their responsibilities and progress their career as the team continues to grow.
