We’re partnering with a leading global banking group to appoint a Vice President into a newly established Group FP&A Modelling Centre of Excellence. This is a high-impact, growth hire within a team still in its formative stages—offering a rare opportunity to shape how a complex organisation plans, forecasts, and drives strategic decision-making. Reporting into a recently appointed senior leader, this role sits at the intersection of finance, risk, and strategy. You’ll combine hands-on modelling with a commercial mindset—challenging existing approaches, building new frameworks, and influencing senior stakeholders across the enterprise. This is not a stewardship role; it’s a build, evolve, and prove-the-value environment where intellectual curiosity and technical rigour are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced financial models to support group-wide forecasting, planning, and strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluate and enhance existing forecasting methodologies across business units, introducing scalable, data-driven improvements.
  • Translate complex model outputs into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Partner with finance business partners and wider stakeholders to challenge assumptions and improve decision quality.
  • Lead or contribute to strategic, project-based initiatives focused on improving modelling standards and frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and embed best practice modelling techniques.
  • Assess and articulate financial risks, supporting governance, controls, and compliance agendas.
  • Influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders, defending modelling approaches and recommendations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record building and owning complex financial models in a dynamic, high-stakes environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen—able to connect quantitative outputs to real business decisions and strategic outcomes.
  • Advanced technical capability (e.g. Excel, VBA, Python, MATLAB, C or similar), with a deep understanding of modelling principles.
  • Experience working with data structures and analytics (SQL and relational databases highly desirable).
  • Exceptional communication skills—confident engaging, challenging, and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • A problem-solving mindset with the ability to structure ambiguous challenges and deliver practical solutions.
  • Background likely within consulting, investment banking, project finance, or quantitative finance—particularly roles combining modelling with advisory.
  • Intellectual curiosity and resilience—this is a demanding environment where quality and rigor are non-negotiable.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, thrives in greenfield environments, and wants to help define what “best-in-class” looks like in a global finance function. You’ll join a small, high-calibre team with significant visibility, where your work will directly influence how the organisation plans for the future.
