About the Role

The International Tax Manager will support the Head of Tax with all tax matters across all Global entities and companies, including Corporate Income Taxes, DPT, IPT, and transfer pricing. This role involves providing tax support in all Global projects and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for oversight and review of income tax return completion (outsourced) including all related analysis and support.
  • Oversight of the tax returns for the Group's international subsidiaries.
  • Review tax workings and disclosures for quarterly and statutory Corporate income tax reporting to ensure they are accurate and comply with the reporting requirements under UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Oversight and review of IPT and withholding tax matters, including coordination with third-party professional advisors where applicable for UK and International subsidiaries.
  • Support the Head of Tax with queries relating to the tax function for Antares Global (UK, Switzerland, Malta, and Gibraltar) including Corporation Tax, Wealth Tax, IPT, SAO, R&D, Country-by-Country reporting, and Lloyd's tax reporting.
  • Support Head of Tax with tax projects such as Tax aspects of M&A activities and group structure.
  • Planning and Implementation of OECD Pillar 2 minimum tax requirements across group entities.
  • Responsible for tax projects as requested by Head of Tax.
  • Support the group's internal and external M&A strategy, including assisting the Head of Tax with acquisitions, mergers, and restructuring projects.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors and authorities as and when required.
  • Support the Head of Tax in developing effective systems, policies, and procedures to ensure that sound management of the group's tax affairs is central to the organisation and SAO obligations are met.
  • Support the Head of Tax to set up and embed newly formed General Insurance Company within best practice tax compliance processes and controls target operating model.
  • Assist with support for the group capital structure and operating structure, considering transfer pricing, DPT, and cost allocation, and ensuring associated supporting documentation, policies, and procedures are maintained.
  • Support the Transformation team providing tax input to planning and implementation of new finance systems.
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor quarterly tax payments for UK and certain international subsidiaries.
  • Constantly seeks to improve practices and procedures within own area of responsibility, ensuring the maintenance of an effective control environment.
  • Takes responsibility for own and colleagues’ Health & Safety at all times.
  • To ensure customers are treated fairly at all times, in accordance with the Conduct Risk Policy and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • To be aware and adhere to all obligations under GDPR, ensuring that the business complies with these requirements.
  • To avoid breaches and to report them to the Data Protection Officer when they occur regardless of whether electronic or on paper.

Qualifications

  • Tax or Accounting qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA).
  • Knowledge of direct tax.
  • Experience of working on a broad spectrum of taxes within practice or in-house Financial Services industry.
  • Lloyd's insurance experience preferred.
  • International tax experience including CFCs, DPT, withholding taxes, and transfer pricing.
