A prestigious international law firm is seeking a high‑calibre Financial Accountant to join its London finance team. This is a rare opportunity to step directly into a high‑ownership, technically challenging role with clear future progression to Finance Manager and beyond.

This Financial Accountant position is ideal for a 4+ years PQE ACA/ACCA accountant, currently working in audit, who has experience with LLPs or professional services clients, and is now ready to make the move into industry. The successful candidate will operate as the firm’s subject-matter expert on technical accounting, statutory reporting and regulatory standards.

The Opportunity:

  • Preparation and oversight of multiple LLP statutory accounts, property company accounts, and dormant entities
  • Management and submission of group VAT returns
  • Acting as first point of contact for professional advisors, attending technical roundtables and maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of accounting and tax developments
  • Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, FRS standards, LLP SORP and upcoming changes (including IFRS 15 & IFRS 16 impact)
  • Driving process improvements across accounting controls, reporting quality, risk management and system efficiency
  • Supporting ad‑hoc technical accounting projects, policy updates and finance initiatives including adoption of AI‑enabled tools

Who We’re Looking For

To be considered, you will be:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, with 4–5 years PQE minimum
  • Currently working in audit, with experience auditing LLPs or professional services clients
  • Technically strong in UK GAAP, FRS, LLP SORP and upcoming accounting changes
  • Confident preparing high‑quality statutory accounts and navigating cash vs accrual accounting
  • Highly proficient in Excel, with strong analytical and reconciliation skills
  • A self‑starter able to manage multiple deadlines and take full ownership of your work
  • Clear, concise and confident in stakeholder communication
  • Ambitious, detail‑focused and enthusiastic about maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance
