Our client is a global tech business searching for a Corporate Tax Manager to join the tax team in Bradford. This successful business has ambitious growth plans targeting £500 million revenue by 2028.
As a VAT Assistant Manager, you will report to the Senior VAT Manager and will be supported by a team of 15 in tax. Responsibilities include:
- Complete, accurate and timely preparation and submission of VAT returns and other indirect tax filings together with supporting analysis for management review.
- VAT accounting, including VAT return to GL reconciliations, journal preparation and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Process maintenance and continuous improvements, including aligning processes to developing digital reporting requirements.
- Operation and evidence of controls over VAT reporting processes.
- Driving automation projects to streamline processes.
- Working with the VAT Compliance Senior Manager to provide technical support and tax advice to the business; performing detailed analysis of tax data, reporting back on accuracy and compliance matters.
- Liaising with key stakeholders to ensure efficient and accurate reporting.
- Communicating regularly with the business to ensure thorough understanding of reporting requirements and business needs.
This opportunity will support your ACCA, CIMA, ATT, or CTA qualifications financially and provide study leave. You should have 2 years of VAT preparation and VAT accounting experience, and have strong Excel and financial systems skills (e.g. Oracle, SAP). The hiring managers are also looking for excellent communication skills, motivated individuals who can collaborate with different stakeholders.
Unfortunately, this role will not offer visa sponsorship and is only open to candidates in the UK. In return, you will receive a salary of £30,000-£35,000 and a host of benefits and study support. The tax team follow a hybrid pattern of 2 days in the Bradford office.
