We love great craft beer. We want everyone to be as passionate about it as we are – and our central team are vital in this mission. Every single person in our team can shape our future for the better, whether that’s for our people, planet or our incredible beer. Because we expect great things from you, we give great things back.

About The Role

We’re looking for a smart, driven, detail-obsessed and commercially minded Head of Category & Insights to lead how BrewDog shows up across the UK market. This role shapes our category thinking, elevates our retailer partnerships, powers our sales team and delivers sharp insight and internal reporting that drives the business forward. You’ll combine deep analytical capability with strong people skills, translating data into simple, compelling recommendations that unlock growth. You’ll work closely with major UK retailers, partner with our sales leads, and bring a strategic, future-focused view of the beer category.

Key Responsibilities

  • Category Leadership & Retailer Support: Own and lead the BrewDog category agenda across all major UK retailers. Build and deliver category visions, retailer-specific growth plans, and insight-led recommendations. Partner with the sales team to bring category stories to life in customer presentations and joint business planning. Support range reviews, space & merchandising projects, promotional evaluation, and pricing architecture work. Represent BrewDog in customer meetings as the category and market expert.
  • Insights & Market Understanding: Lead brewing, beer and wider drinks category insights using Circana, Dunnhumby, retailer POS portals and additional insight partners. Translate data into powerful, concise insights that drive decision-making across commercial, marketing and strategy. Monitor competitor performance, shopper behaviour, and emerging category trends. Produce actionable recommendations that balance detail with big-picture thinking.
  • Internal Reporting & Performance Tracking: Own the internal reporting rhythm for market performance, including monthly business reviews. Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and insight tools to democratise data across the business. Work cross-functionally with commercial finance, brand, and operations to ensure a single view of performance. Provide clear, pragmatic direction on what matters most to deliver results.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to the Strategy & Creative Director and the wider senior team. Work closely with sales, brand, innovation, and trade marketing teams to ensure all plans are insight-led. Potential to build and develop a small category/insights team as BrewDog grows. Bring an energetic, collaborative, can-do approach to a fast-moving business.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced: 7+ years in FMCG category management, shopper insights, market insights or related commercial roles. Alcohol or beverage experience is a strong plus, but not essential. Strong knowledge of major UK grocery retailers and how they operate. Highly proficient with data systems (Circana, Dunnhumby, Power BI, etc.).
  • Skilled: Exceptional at simplifying complex data into persuasive stories. Strong presentation and communication skills — confident in front of retailers. Able to balance detail with strategic thinking. Highly organised, structured and reliable with a bias for action.
  • Personal Qualities: Pragmatic, commercially sharp and solutions-focused. Strong relationship-builder internally and externally. Driven, curious and continuously looking for smarter ways of working. Passionate about beer, about great products, and about making an impact.

What You’ll Get: The opportunity to shape the category and insights agenda for one of the UK’s most exciting, disruptive beer brands. A high-visibility role partnering closely with senior leaders across the business. A chance to influence major UK grocers and help define the future of craft beer. A fast-paced environment where your insights directly drive growth.
