We’re on the hunt for a Category Development Manager to work in our biggest global channel – UK Off Trade. We are looking for a passionate, energetic & ambitious category genius to join our dynamic customer marketing team and support changing the face of the UK beer scene. Our Category Development Manager will be tasked with driving craft beer category & Brewdog sales within the off-premise channel & prioritised customers. This will be achieved through externally-facing, practical category management initiatives aligning to each customer's unique strategy. You will be seen as a trusted beer category advisor to our customers and seen as the craft beer expert!
This role sits in the UK, reporting to the Head of Category, who will give you the freedom to do your role effectively & independently, whilst supporting you to develop your skills continually. Works in close conjunction with the wider off-premise sales team.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provide data-driven insights, analysis and recommendations to customers that optimise long-term category growth.
- Use insight platforms to mine data creating tailored plans for each retailer and channel to grow craft beer penetration.
- Turn insight into actionable outputs to drive value & volume growth for customers.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders within sales functions & wider organisation.
- Influence retail customers to maximise their opportunity within craft beer.
- Provide best in class merchandising recommendations.
- Monitor market trends & provide input & recommendations into NPD discussion.
- Manage budgets for relevant insight sources ongoing KPI & performance dashboard & reporting maintenance.
About You:
- Experience of using sales data from various sources (e.g. Nielsen, Circana, Dunnhumby, Quantium, Hive etc).
- Ability to create sell-in stories – taking vast amounts of data and distilling down into the key nuggets of success.
- Space planning principle understanding (software training provided).
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Knowledge & passion for beer & craft beer category.
- Experience with major UK off trade customers (e.g. Asda, WM, impulse customers).
- Experience with JBP - range review & rationalisation.
