About the role

The Operations Manager at Brew Digital will play a key role in ensuring that the business delivers projects successfully, helping the business grow, pushing for the level of rapid growth that we aim to achieve into the foreseeable future, and supporting the team with the challenges that come with that. The breadth of the role will primarily involve leading the Project Management team, as well as working across all Brew Digital teams and territories and supporting the Senior Management Team.

This role will collaborate with senior leaders and the other department heads to ensure that the whole company works with effective processes to produce work of the highest quality standards expected. Key functions of this role include line managing the Project Managers and the Operations team, change management, quality control, continuous improvement, team administration, reporting and managing one-off special projects.

The role will support the Senior Management Team with overall project management and administrative tasks, helping them focus on managing their business areas day to day. Daily challenges will require creative and collaborative solutions, and the team will work with various stakeholders internally and externally at all levels.

What you\’ll be doing

People:

  • Manage the Project Management team. This includes line managing the individual Project Managers, helping them develop, and ensuring that they are completing their work effectively and delivering projects to the satisfaction of customers.
  • Support efforts to identify and promote successful adoption and use of new processes and procedures against required metrics and feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with all departments to ensure alignment with regard to Brew Digital\’s key business aims, goals and operational activities.
  • Supporting all functions of the business to work together to ensure effective collaboration and improve working practices where appropriate.
  • Line management of direct reports supporting their growth, development and career aspirations
  • Support achieving recruitment targets by coordinating recruitment and talent acquisition efforts across the Recruitment Team and the various Brew Digital Team Leads.
  • Collaborate with HR to develop business cases to support the need for further recruitment and growth within the team as required.
  • Support a culture of continual learning and development both within their own team and also supporting Team Leads across the business to ensure that this is business-wide.

Processes:

  • Ensure the Project Managers are following appropriate processes and policies to ensure projects are delivered successfully and to budget.
  • Support the Project Managers through monitoring project plans and schedules, ensuring the right balance of workload and resource mix is in place across teams to support revenue and billability targets being achieved.
  • Collaborate with various customer-facing teams to define and implement external customer satisfaction mechanisms in order to monitor and suggest improvements to increase the quality of customer service.
  • Ensuring day-to-day working practices within the operations team are carried out in an appropriate, cost-effective way
  • Analyse financial data to suggest ways to improve profitability across the company. Work with the Heads of Departments to analyse and manage costs, and ensure accountability.
  • Continuously improving and evolving operational management systems, processes and best practices, ensuring that they are fit for purpose as we scale.
  • Communicating key changes to operational processes to stakeholders to ensure buy-in and successful adoption.
  • Responsible for creating, managing and monitoring special projects and teams, for such activities as one-off events, conferences or other marketing activities, so that they successfully achieve identified aims.
  • Assist in due diligence activities to support acquisition opportunities.

Executive Delivery:

  • Ensure high levels of quality control through appropriate Project Management processes.
  • Supporting and helping to implement the Senior Management team\’s vision and process ideals across Brew Digital\’s working practices.
  • Ensure consistency of quality and output by deputising when appropriate in the absence of key Senior Management Team members.
  • Engaging with and on behalf of the Senior Management Team with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Be visible to Brew Digital employees as the point of contact for the Senior Management Team.
  • Build strong relationships with the current Senior Management Team to ensure harmonious working relationships.

What we\’re looking for

  • Experience in managing a wide variety of projects using various project management methodologies.
  • Strong people management skills, including the ability to influence and support teams to deliver successful project delivery within timelines and budgets.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills – you\’ll be detail-oriented and thrive on delivering good results.
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders at all levels internally and externally – candidates will need to be able to build and develop strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Creative approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise workload proactively.
  • Display a high degree of resilience in an environment which is constantly changing.
  • Have a flexible and adaptive style to working, a positive and approachable attitude, and be a team player.
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion and confidentiality at all times
  • Good working knowledge of OpenAir (now called SuiteProjects Pro) in order to be able to support other users of it.
  • Comfortable using and good knowledge of Apple Mac.
  • Business/office software tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), G-Suite, & Slack
  • Strong English communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Project Management-related qualifications.

A few nice to haves

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence is desirable but not necessary.
  • Data and Analytics understanding and interest.
