An opportunity has arisen at Brett Aggregates’ Cliffe Terminal for a reliable and motivated Operative to join our team in Cliffe. Working as part of a busy operational team, you will support the safe, efficient and compliant handling and processing of aggregate materials, ensuring high standards of safety, housekeeping and customer service are maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate mobile and static plant in line with site procedures
  • Load lorries, trains and barges efficiently and professionally
  • Carry out routine inspections of plant and equipment
  • Undertake basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks
  • Maintain high standards of site cleanliness, including managing spillages, haul roads and bunds
  • Promptly report accidents, incidents, near misses, or changes in material quality
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, providing support where required

We're Looking For

  • Experience in operating mobile and/or fixed plant within a production or processing environment (NVQ or working towards desirable)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound mechanical understanding of plant and equipment
  • Self‑motivated, flexible and proactive, with strong problem‑solving ability
  • Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
