As a Class 2 Driver specialising in manual goods delivery, you will be responsible for transporting goods using a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) of Class 2 category. This role involves delivering goods to various destinations while adhering to safety regulations and ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
About The Role- Driving and Navigation: Operate a Class 2 vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. Navigate routes using GPS and maps to ensure timely deliveries.
- Loading and Unloading: Load goods onto the vehicle securely, ensuring weight distribution and adherence to safety guidelines. Unload goods manually at delivery points, following manual handling procedures to prevent damage.
- Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork as required. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle. Report any defects or maintenance needs promptly to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and company policies at all times. Follow health and safety protocols during loading, unloading, and driving operations.
- Teamwork and Communication: Liaise with transport planners, dispatchers, and warehouse teams for efficient route planning. Report any incidents, delays, or issues affecting deliveries.
Requirement to stay out a few times a week depending on runs.
