As a Product Engineer, you will be supporting the Technical Department with product testing, research, and development across our full product range. You will be responsible for conducting testing and analysis, providing data-driven insights, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and production. You will gain practical knowledge of materials, polymers, and manufacturing techniques, and contribute to the enhancement of our product portfolio.
About The Role
- Product Testing: Perform testing on Brett Martin products in line with established procedures to support product development, customer requirements, and quality investigations.
- Product Research: Assist in product research and development projects aimed at improving performance, cost-effectiveness, and competitiveness.
- Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret test results, providing insights to guide decision-making and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Competitor Benchmarking: Evaluate competitor products to benchmark performance and quality, assisting in maintaining our competitive edge.
- Technical Support: Provide technical advice to internal teams and customers on product applications, installation best practices, and material processing.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure that all testing and development activities comply with relevant ISO, BSI, and EN standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough records of test results and procedures, ensuring all documentation is updated and easily accessible.
- Collaboration: Support other functions of the Technical Services Department, including working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Production teams to provide technical insights and data.
Required Criteria
- Bachelors degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel).
- Knowledge of polymers and materials science principles.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A passion for innovation, technical development, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about industry standards such as ISO, BSI, and EN.
