Responsible to: Design Manager

Main purpose: To support the growth of the Roofing and Cladding products through the provision of technical direction and support on installation projects and opportunities.

About The Role

  • Generating and issuing general and specific information in support of products and their uses.
  • Developing specifications, design proposals and required detailing relevant for successful product use.
  • Use of Revit to understand and interrogate large scale construction projects, develop material specification with junction details, and export quantity take-off.
  • Use of Revit to develop accurate detailed product family models, rendered to photo realistic standard with Vray.
  • Provision of timely and accurate technical documentation to Brett Martin Sales, Commercial, and Marketing functions.
  • Evaluation of competitor information, materials, systems and product uses.
  • Maintaining documentation efficiently and to a high standard of accuracy.
  • Contribute to improvements in service, processes, productivity and quality of manufacture of Brett Martin product ranges.
  • Contribute to the process of design, and assist with the development and testing required for product development through to third party certification.
  • Provide direct customer support and training for new product developments with on site attendance as required.
  • Provide project specific design advice and on-site installation training.
  • Maintaining familiarity with all aspects of the Brett Martin ranges of products, including relevant legislation, product applications, and good practices in use.

Required Criteria

  • 3rd Level qualification in a Construction/Engineering related discipline or 10 years demonstrable relevant experience.
  • Proficient with 2D & 3D CAD.
  • Good working knowledge of windows based software e.g. Microsoft Office.
  • 3-5 years in at least one of the following: Material take-off; Undertaking on site installation assessments; Working with construction projects.

Desired Criteria

  • Experience using AutoDesk (Autocad, Revit, Inventor, 3DS Max).
  • Proficient with SharePoint or similar software.
  • Knowledge / experience of plastics processing, particularly extrusion.
  • Experience of delivering presentations/training.
  • Experience in supplier interaction/communication.
  • Use of Revit at macro and micro scale.
  • Use of Vray to develop photo realistic images.
