About The Role
We are looking to recruit a Transport Planner responsible for planning / scheduling our fleet of tippers based in Suffolk and Essex moving aggregate and muckaway, reporting to the regional Transport Manager.
About The Role
β Providing effective support and back-up to the Transport Manager.
β Ensuring that deliveries / collections are made in a safe and legally compliant manner
β Taking customer orders from Sales and ensuring the correct resource is available to complete daily volumes.
β Routing / scheduling a fleet of 30 tipper vehicles in order to deliver the daily volume in the most cost effective and efficient way possible.
β Drive efficiency improvements in conjunction with the Transport Manager through maximum utilisation of the resources available.
β Source external hauliers as and when required dependant on daily volumes.
β Communicating with external and internal customers to ensure service levels are maintained at the highest level at all times.
We\βre Looking For
β Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
β IT literate with previous experience of load scheduling / routing systems or Traffic management systems an advantage.
β A good telephone manner, be self-driven and willing to learn new skills.
β CPC (National or International) would be an advantage but not essential.
β Excellent salary and package available for the right candidate. Hours are start time between 07.00 and 08.00, finish time between 16.30 and 17.30 Monday to Friday with 1 hour for lunch. Total 45 hours per week.
