Overview

Brett Aggregates Ltd is one of the largest independent aggregate suppliers in the South East of England. We have operations based in Kent, Suffolk, Sussex, Hampshire and Middlesex and operate a fleet of 75 vehicles consisting of rigid and artic tipper vehicles. We are looking to recruit a Transport Planner responsible for planning / scheduling our fleet of tippers based in West London and the South Coast moving aggregate materials, reporting to the regional Transport Manager.

The Role

The Role Will Include But Is Not Limited To

  • Providing effective support and back-up to the Transport Manager.
  • Ensuring that deliveries / collections are made in a safe and legally compliant manner.
  • Taking customer orders from Sales and ensuring the correct resource is available to complete daily volumes.
  • Routing / scheduling a fleet of approximately 20 tipper vehicles in order to deliver the daily volume in the most cost effective and efficient way possible.
  • Drive efficiency improvements in conjunction with the Transport Manager through maximum utilisation of the resources available.
  • Source external hauliers as and when required dependant on daily volumes.
  • Communicating with external and internal customers to ensure service levels are maintained at the highest level at all times.

Key Skills For The Right Candidate

  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • IT literate with previous experience of load scheduling / routing systems or Traffic management systems an advantage.
  • A good telephone manner, be self-driven and willing to learn new skills.
  • CPC (National or International) would be an advantage but not essential.

Hours are Monday to Friday, start time between 07.00 and 08.00, finish time between 16.30 and 17.30 with 1 hour for lunch. The candidate must also be prepared to work some Saturday mornings, paid as additional overtime above the fixed salary.

25 days holiday plus public holidays, company pension scheme and death in service benefit.
