Role Overview
Paralegals support the Wills, Trusts and Probate team by completing delegated duties promptly and complying with all pre‑defined case management procedures, including SRA, Lexcel and other regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support solicitors on a daily basis and take instructions from them, handling a high volume of legal cases.
- Liaise with clients and solicitors, dealing with new enquiries into the team.
- Draft legal documents such as Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and applications for Grants of Representation.
- Progress estate matters and ensure all tasks are returned to the appropriate team member within a timely manner.
- Follow and comply with all pre‑defined case management procedures, including those relating to compliance of the SRA, Lexcel and other regulatory bodies.
- Seek specialist technical advice from the team when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Paralegal in a Wills, Trusts and Probate department.
- Proactive, hardworking, a team player with the ability to manage multiple demands and shifting priorities.
- Strong technical expertise in drafting Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and progressing probate files.
- Comfortable with seeking specialist technical advice when necessary.
