This is a non-fee earning role that provides a high level of administrative support and assistance to Solicitors in the team. The overall objective of the role is to ensure that delegated duties are completed and returned to the appropriate team member within a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. Core tasks include:

  1. Customer and matter inception, including file opening and closing
  2. Assisting with initial stages of matter progression
  3. Ensuring file hygiene in accordance with compliance requirements
  4. Dealing with the organisation and storage of original documents
  5. Drafting standard letters to clients
  6. Post scanning and allocation
  7. Supporting new enquiries into the team, including answering phones, emails, and meeting customers in reception

About you

The role suits individuals with strong administration skills who can work well under general direction against established priorities, processes, and procedures, exercising some autonomy in how work tasks are performed. You should understand the duties and tasks delegated to you; some tasks may require knowledge of the Practice Area. Wills, Trusts, and Probate experience is desirable but not essential. You will be responsible for setting personal priorities and managing your workflow, with routine monitoring. You must work well as part of a team but may occasionally work independently. You should be able to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and the public via telephone or email, representing the Brethertons brand effectively.
