At Brereton Primary School, our Breakfast Club Play Leader plays an important role in helping children begin each school day feeling happy, settled and ready to learn. The Breakfast Club Play Leader is responsible for supporting children attending Breakfast Club each morning from 7:40am to 8:40am, creating a safe, welcoming and engaging environment where children feel valued and cared for before the start of the school day.

The role involves supporting children to independently select and enjoy their breakfast, encouraging positive routines and social interaction, and ensuring children are supervised and supported throughout the session. The Breakfast Club Play Leader will prepare a range of enjoyable play opportunities and actively engage children in play, helping to create a fun and positive start to the day. This may include creative activities, colouring, games, imaginative play and opportunities for children to socialise with friends.

The successful candidate will enjoy getting involved in activities and interacting positively with children rather than supervising from a distance. At the end of the session, the role includes supporting children to tidy and clear away activities, ensuring the environment is left ready for the school day and safely dismissing children to their classrooms at the start of school.

Our children have told us they would love someone who is:

  • Friendly, enthusiastic and bubbly
  • Someone who greets them with a smile each morning
  • A person who enjoys playing, creating and colouring
  • Kind, approachable and fun
  • Someone who helps them feel happy and welcome at the start of the day

The ideal person will bring warmth, energy and positivity to Breakfast Club and help make every morning a great start for our children.
