Overview
Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council strive to provide high quality, efficient and value for money services and seek continuous improvement in service delivery to meet the needs of the community. They are aiming to get the best outcome and achieve a good balance for residents, business and the economy in a way that celebrates Brentwood's unique history and quality of life. To help achieve this, they are recruiting for a Finance Business Partner in their Corporate Finance Department.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with Service departments within the Council to ensure effective Monthly Budget Monitoring is carried out, budget challenge and escalation as appropriate.
- Provide financial support to the key transformation projects the Council is undertaking.
- Contribute towards the compilation, monitoring and reporting of the Council's Medium Term Financial Plan and Annual setting of fees and charges.
- Contribute to the closure of the Council's accounts and preparation of the Statement of Accounts.
- Complete Key Reconciliations and clearance of suspense accounts and ensuring the Council meets all statutory and external reporting requirements.
Qualifications and experience
The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively under pressure to deliver positive outcomes. This role will suit an individual who has experience of working in a Local Government environment including substantial knowledge and understanding of budgeting and budgetary control; utilisation of financial management systems is desirable, as is experience of MS Office suite products.
