To help achieve this they are recruiting for a Finance Business Partner in their Corporate Finance Department.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with service departments within the Council to ensure effective monthly budget monitoring is carried out, providing budget challenge and escalation as appropriate.
- Provide financial support to the key transformation projects the Council is undertaking.
- Contribute towards the compilation, monitoring and reporting of the Council's Medium Term Financial Plan and Annual Budget, assisting with the setting of fees and charges.
- Contribute to the closure of the Council's accounts and preparation of the Statement of Accounts.
- Complete key reconciliations and clearance of suspense accounts, ensuring the Council meets all statutory and external reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively under pressure, to deliver positive outcomes.
- This role will suit an individual who has experience of working in a Local Government environment, including substantial knowledge and understanding of budgeting and budgetary control.
- Experience in utilisation of financial management systems is desirable as is experience of MS Office suite products.
