About the role
Salary Β£45,189 β Β£53,008 per annum | Grade H β I (SCP 38 β 45)
Plus a market supplement of Β£8,000 per annum (market supplement to be reviewed after 12 months)

We have an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified or experienced Building Control professional to join our supportive, modern, customer focused team, to ensure buildings are compliant and residents and visitors of the Borough are safe.
You will join our proactive customer focused Building Control team which has been involved in some exciting developments recently and has a number of exciting projects to get involved with, including several large housing developments and commercial projects across the borough.
You will experience plenty of variety as you manage and progress a broad range of building control projects to effective completion. In addition, you will help to grow our business by establishing and strengthening working relationships with architects, developers as well as other existing or potential clients.
Brentwood is a thriving borough of 75,000 residents. Located in the Green Belt, Brentwood boasts busy high streets, picturesque villages, spacious parks with cycle and walking trails, outstanding schools, and year-round cultural events. With its excellent road and rail connections, Brentwood is also a great base for getting into central London or exploring the East of England. Stansted, Southend and London City Airports are only 30 minutes away for residents looking to travel further afield.
We are looking for a team member who has a degree in Building Surveying or equivalent construction discipline and has corporate full membership of either MRICS, MCABE or MCIOB and must be registered at either Class 2 or 3 with the Building Safety Regulator.
You must be self-motivated, be able to work on own initiative and have broad experience in Building Control legislation and enforcement processes. You must have proven excellent verbal and written communication skills.
You will need to be a registered building inspector with the Building Safety Regulator, minimum class 2 category A.
