Responsibilities:
- Pick up litter and sweep streets to keep roads, footpaths, verges and open spaces clean.
- Utilise equipment consistent with Street Cleansing requirements.
- Ensure all activities comply with the Council’s Health and Safety policy and the Safety at Street Works Code of Practice.
Qualifications:
- Full driving licence, categories B and B1.
- Knowledge of the local area is desirable.
Working Hours and Shift Pattern:
- Overtime is worked on a rota basis – Saturday and Sunday on 1 in 3 weekends – with additional ad-hoc cover for absences or leave.
- Weekend hours: 6 am onwards for 2½ hours on Saturdays and 3 hours on Sundays.
