Brentford Group Practice is looking for a fixed-term salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team for 4 to 5 sessions per week, ideally covering Monday and Wednesday (full days) and Friday (half day).
We are a friendly, innovative, enthusiastic, and proactive two-partner GP practice based in Brentford. We are seeking a similarly motivated and committed GP who enjoys all aspects of general practice and is keen to work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team. Excellent and modern purpose-built site premises which is part of a health Centre with community services. This is an excellent opportunity for a GP looking for a flexible role within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. Ideally, the successful applicant would start as soon as possible. The Practice remains flexible regarding the start date in order to appoint the desired candidate. Newly qualified GPs welcomed and supported. Diverse range of services provided. We use System One and a total triage system. List size - 8000. CQC rated as good.
Main duties of the job
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered general medical services.
- Conduct face-to-face, telephone and online consultations as appropriate.
- Manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Participate in clinical meetings and practice development activities.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records.

Job responsibilities
- To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care.
- Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide general medical services to registered patients during scheduled clinical sessions.
- Undertake face-to-face, telephone, home visits and video consultations as appropriate.
- Assess, diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with NHS and local prescribing guidelines.
- Refer patients to secondary care and other healthcare professionals whenever appropriate.
- Review pathology results, correspondence and clinical documents.
- Undertake home visits where required.
- Promote preventative healthcare and health education.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records using the clinical system.

Service Delivery

Security
The security of the practice is the responsibility of all personnel. Staff must ensure they remain vigilant at all times and report any suspicious activity immediately to their line manager.
Leave
All personnel are entitled to take leave. Line managers are to ensure all of their staff are afforded the opportunity to take a minimum of 6 weeks leave each year which includes the study leave and should be encouraged to take all of their leave entitlement.
Primary Responsibilities
- The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population.
- The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract.
- Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.
- Effective management of long-term conditions.
- Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks.
- On a rotational basis, undertake duty doctor roles.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
- Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload.
- Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process.
- Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
- Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF.
- Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required.
- Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HR.
- Ensure compliance with the appraisal process.

Person SpecificationQualifications
- Essential: GMC registered, DBS, Performers list, MRCGP, Eligibility to practice in the UK independently.
- Desirable: Experience of working in a GP setting although we are open to newly qualified GP. General understanding of the GMS/PMS contract.
Experience
- Essential: Experience of working in a primary care environment, Experience of continued professional development, Experience of QOF and clinical audit, General understanding of the GMS/PMS contract.
- Desirable: Minimum of two years as a salaried GP, Experience of medicines management, Competent in the use of Office and Outlook, SystmOne user skills.
