The role is made up of many varying responsibilities within the kitchen including preparing, cooking, and presenting high quality dishes within a 'high performance' environment. Assisting the Head Chef and other team members in managing the food production, ensuring that the highest standards are adhered to.

  • To manage a section in the kitchen to the required standards set by the Head Chef
  • Ensure good stock and waste control is practiced
  • Be responsible for the quality control of stock and prepared foods
  • Execute cooking to the expected high standard quickly and efficiently
  • Ensure cleanliness and organisation of their designated section
  • Always maintain a positive and proactive attitude
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations, the Staff Code of Conduct and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef and senior management, including placing orders with suppliers from time to time

  • Have demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • Have essential knowledge of food hygiene rules and regulation, applicable to a commercial kitchen

  • Be prepared to manage a 'kitchen section', preparing and presenting food to the required standard
  • Experienced in handling and preparing fresh produce
  • Help plan and develop new menu ideas with the support of the Head Chef
