The Role of Casual Academy Coach

The successful candidate will assist in the development and implementation of our coaching programme within our Pre-Academy and development centres to ensure we develop and recruit the best talent available within our catchment area.

Main Accountabilities

  • To coach within the Pre-Academy and Development Centre age groups as requested.
  • To motivate and develop the individual players whilst working within the Club’s coaching philosophy.
  • To always adhere to the Academy Coaching standards and code of conduct.
  • To deliver the Brentford FC Academy coaching philosophy as directed to best support player development.
  • To work in collaboration with the Scouting and Recruitment Department for the talent identification, selection and retention of players.
  • Form positive relationships with players and motivate them towards achieving their potential, ensuring their well-being and holistic development.
  • To work together with parents to create an environment in which all children can thrive and showcase their talent.
  • To have the ability to identify individual strengths and weaknesses and apply appropriate coaching, and tactical development tailored to the individual player.
  • Attend all relevant coaching CPD events both internally and externally at the request of the Head of Academy Football Development.
  • To ensure that any concerns you observe, or are raised with you in your role, are shared with the Safeguarding Team through appropriate channels.

  • To build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, maintaining a professional image at all times when representing Brentford FC
  • To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Club and its personnel.
  • To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times.

UEFA C Licence Coaching Certificate

FA Emergency Aid in Football Certificate

Able to always maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information

Experience of working within a youth development setting

FA Learning Safeguarding Children Certificate
