**Department:** Sports Participation

**Reports to:** Senior Manager – School Sport & Post-16

**Responsible for:** Developing, overseeing, and implementing the coaching framework and philosophy for the entire Post-16 programme in collaboration with the Senior Manager - School Sport & Post-16 and Head Coach.

**Salary:** £14 - £15 per hour dependant on qualification and experience

**Working Pattern**

  • Monday: 4:00pm – 6:00pm (Training)
  • Tuesday: 4:00pm – 6:00pm (Training)
  • Wednesday: Matchday (fixtures throughout the season)
  • Friday: 4:00pm – 6:00pm (Training)

**Attendance at trials, tournaments and CPD events as required.**

**Main Purpose of Job**

The Coach will support the delivery of high-quality football sessions across the post-16 programme. Working under the guidance of the Head Coach, the post holder will assist in implementing the coaching framework and philosophy, contribute to player development both technically and physically, and ensure effective preparation for training and fixtures. This role will also involve supporting administrative tasks, player monitoring, and helping to maintain a safe, professional, and motivating environment.

**Responsibilities**

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality coaching sessions within our Post-16 Programme.
  • Develop relationships with participants, parents and coaching staff.
  • Contribute to raising the profile and the perception of BFCCST in leading and developing Post-16 Football & Education.
  • Establish a relationship with local charter standard football clubs, local and national governing bodies to explore new opportunities for development – coaching / employment / pathways.
  • Keep up to date monitoring including registers, VIEWS database, risk assessments and any relevant reporting documents.
  • To access all quality assurance and staff training offered by the Trust during the term of employment.
  • To ensure all equipment is available and well maintained.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns promptly to the appropriate authorities or designated personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, concerns, and actions taken.
  • To coach and mentor colleagues who are timetabled to contribute to the delivery of football curriculum.

**Selection Criteria**

  • FA UEFA B, equivalent qualification, or higher qualification
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and relevant qualifications.
  • Previous experience in coaching football at grassroots or academy level.

**Desirable**

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Coaching, Sports management, or a related field.
  • Experience coaching players 16-19 years
  • FA UEFA A (or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving licence and transport via car
  • Computer Literate (Microsoft Office) / IT skills
