Main Purpose of Job
The Fundraising Manager is accountable for delivering an agreed share of the Trust's annual fundraising target. Working alongside the Head of Fundraising and Partnerships, the postholder builds and delivers the annual fundraising plan,leading on community and corporate givinginitiatives, individual and regular giving,eventsand campaigns,and manages relationships with supportersand community stakeholders.
The postholder will be someonewho can navigate between strategy andoperational deliverables andobjectives, with accountability fortargets and metrics. It includes line management responsibilities when needed and involves deputising for the Head of Partnerships and Fundraising at key internal and externalmeetings.
Responsibilities
Income generation and strategy
- Own the delivery of an agreed annual income target, reporting monthly on performance against forecast.
- Translate the Fundraising Strategy 2025–28 into a costed annual plan, with clear activity,ROIexpectationsandmilestones for each income stream.
- Build and manage the prospect pipeline across corporate supporters, SMEs,individualgiversandcommunity stakeholders
Community Supporters Club and corporate giving
- Lead the growth and retention of the Community Supporters Club, including recruitment targets, memberbenefits,renewalsandaccuratereportingof committed value.
- Steward existing supporters and convert lapsed and prospective members through structured, tracked outreach.
- Work with colleagues at Brentford FCtoidentifyandactivate opportunities where Club and Trust interests alignas through the BFC Community Outreach Programme
SME and stakeholder partnerships
- Develop income and partnership opportunities and community stakeholder relationships
- Represent the Trust externallywithSMEs,communitystakeholders, localbusinesses,relevantChamberof Commerce, thelocalauthorityandpartner organisations.
- Build the evidence base that linksTrust areas of work with the fundraising strategy unrestricted income targets
Events and campaigns
- Lead the fundraising events programme end to end,concept, budget,delivery,evaluationandsupporter conversion.
- Deliver challenge events, seasonal appeals and the 40th Anniversary campaign
- Grow and nurture the database of fundraisers and donors across all initiatives.
Supporter experience and data
- Seamless and consistent supporter stewardship, ensuring all supporters have a positive experience when engaging with a particular fundraisinginitiative
- Ensure fundraising data across Enthuse, Monday.com, Mailchimp and associated platformsisaccurate,currentandused to drive decisions.
Leadership and compliance
- Linemanage, coach and develop the fundraising apprentice andvolunteerswhenrequired
- Deputise for the Head of Fundraising and Partnerships asrequired, including at internal working groups and external meetings.
- Uphold best practice and legal compliance in fundraising, GDPR and safeguarding, in line with the Fundraising Regulator's Code of Fundraising Practice.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Implement security measures to safeguard the well-being of employees, clients, and visitors.
- Ensure that all visitors sign in and wear appropriate identification badges.
- Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality, especially regarding individuals' personal details and concerns.

- Stay informed about safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practices.

The Selection Criteria Essential
- Proventrack recordof generating income and meeting or exceeding financial targets across more than one income stream.
- Experience ofdeveloping,deliveringandmonitoringfundraising,partnershiporcommercial plans, withclear evidenceof results.
- Experience working within the charity, not – for profit -sports, or football club community sector.
- Experience of managing external relationships: corporate supporters, donors,communityorganisationsorcommissioners from first contact through to renewal.
- Excellentwrittenskills,with the ability to build a compelling case for support and produceproposals,applicationsandreports
- Effectivenegotiationskills and effective communication with external stakeholders.
- Goodcommunicationskillsand ability to adapt communication styles for effective interaction with colleagues and senior staff.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to hold multiple workstreams and competing deadlines without losing sight of the target.
- Confident with CRM and fundraising platforms, and comfortable using data to inform decisions.
- Sound understanding of fundraising regulation, GDPR and safeguarding.
- Commitment to community development and to the mission of Brentford FC Community Sports Trust.
- Work independently and as part of ateamdemonstratingadaptabilityand resilience.
Desirable:
- Experience of linemanagement,coachingorsupervising others.
- Knowledge of theBrentford FC Community Sports Trust geographical landscapeand its communities, and of the local businessandschoolslandscape.
- Experience of individual giving,regulargivingorlottery products.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, or an equivalent qualification.
