Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here. The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

As Team Manager for Building Opportunities, you will take operational leadership of two day centres, each providing high quality support for autistic adults and vulnerable customers with diverse needs. This is a role for a leader who thrives in regulated care environments and understands the standards required to deliver safe, dignified, CQC aligned practice every day. You will drive a campus style service that promotes independence, inclusion and meaningful outcomes. From developing personalised life skills programmes, to ensuring robust risk assessments and support planning, you will create an environment where customers’ rights, aspirations and safety are always central. Your impact goes beyond day to day operations. You’ll expand our Autism agenda within Brent, develop innovative partnerships (such as Brent Start), support the growth of our social enterprise model, secure new funding streams, and ensure buildings are maintained to regulatory standards. With responsibility for staff development, accreditation processes, policy adherence, and a complex budget, this is a role for someone who wants to build services, build people, and build opportunities.

The Person

You will be an experienced, values driven manager who knows what excellent day centre provision looks like and what it takes to achieve it. You will understand regulatory and CQC expectations, safeguarding duties, health and safety requirements, building compliance, and the responsibility that comes with supporting vulnerable adults. You will inspire confidence in staff, modelling positive approaches to behaviour and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. You will be confident leading Team Leaders and support workers, offering strong supervision, performance management, and a commitment to continuing professional development that lifts the whole service. Collaboration will be one of your strengths and you will work well with carers, families, care managers, community partners and professionals to ensure customer centred, dignified support. You will be skilled at managing risk, navigating complex situations, resolving concerns, and making evidence based decisions. Motivated, resilient and creative, you will balance compassion with high standards, and you’re ready to lead two centres where quality, opportunity and customer wellbeing are paramount.

We know people achieve their best when they feel valued. At Brent, you’ll benefit from:

  • Up to 33 days annual leave (depending on length of service) plus bank holidays
  • Excellent pension with generous employer contributions (LGPS)
  • Hybrid and flexible working options available for most roles
  • Supportive family-friendly policies for parents, guardians, and carers
  • Health and wellbeing support, including access to eye test support and a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
  • Financial support such as education sessions, childcare deposit loans, and season ticket loans
  • Travel perks including affordable parking nearby, a Cycle to Work scheme, and great onsite facilities
  • Learning and development opportunities to help you grow your career
  • Access to My Brent Rewards with exclusive discounts on shopping, travel, leisure, and entertainment

Closing date: 22 February 2026 (23:59)
