Our team delivers life-changing public services with accuracy, empathy and professionalism, operating a full seven-day statutory registration and citizenship service.
The Registration Officer plays a vital role in delivering statutory services to the public, legally registering births, deaths, marriages, civil partnerships and citizenship ceremonies. Working with compassion, you will guide residents through life's most significant moments while ensuring full compliance with registration, data protection and immigration legislation. This is a busy frontline, customer focused role requiring excellent communication, attention to detail and the ability to stay calm under pressure. The service operates seven days a week, and you will contribute to a high quality, flexible service that supports the local community and visitors to Brent.
Over the next two years there will be fundamental changes to how the registration service is delivered, therefore IT skills will be essential in moving forward in the new digital age.
You are a calm, confident and highly accurate professional who can handle complex legal processes with care and precision. You communicate clearly, show empathy during emotional situations, and provide excellent customer service to people from diverse backgrounds. You can interpret legislation, manage sensitive information responsibly, and remain composed under pressure. With strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise a busy workload in a seven day a week service, you bring professionalism, integrity and a commitment to delivering high quality services.
